thank you so much very interesting even if this video published 7 years ago.
So if I get baptized then everything is ok
No I don’t want to do that sweetheart.
Going in for my first cold read audition in Vegas on the 14th and thanks for your tips! I will def try the CARE - Character Action Relationship Environment tip! TY!
Amazing content❤
Exelent video in 3 min ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I love it
Completely unhelpful. I was hoping to hear some tips on how to be a good stand-in. But all i got was, "your career is over if you do too much background and stand-in". (Paraphrasing) gross
I've thought about having one slate but many slates ask for different things. So it's hard to work around this. Any suggestions?
whoa. glad I happened to find this lol. just starting out doing self tapes. great advice! your jobs are super interesting. hire me!
-Driving -comedian -artist -horsebackriding -stunt/weapon work Not useful: -being general -accents -sports Conversation starters Specify your talents and quirks!!!!!
^sports and accents are useful-- just gotta be specific about your ability and type/any other specifications rather than generalizing. Like Karate - Black Belt, Advanced Korean (Seoul Dialect). Or at least this is what I've gathered/seen myself. Cause arguably, anyone can say they are comedian or an artist. They just need to back that up with training, experience, and specify what type of art-- maybe even show some examples/demonstration of previous awards/showcases, etc. Same for driving-- specify manual or automatic-- if you know how to drive specific vehicles like motorcycles, buses, trucks, trailers, etc. I'm pretty sure that's the entire getaway from this. No matter the skill, make sure you can be specific/have something that demonstrates your knowledge/performance of said skill.
Its so painful watching Erica continually interrupting Richard and cutting him off mid thought. She does this in other videos, too. Otherwise the content is quite good.
She needs to be more realistic. Some actors are on a tight budget. I lost my job and the rent in Los Angeles is insane and I’m living out of a hotel.
I did a bunch of commercials and some tv shows and small independent films when I was in my 20’s. Then I left the industry and went to focus on a music and photography career. Now I’m 45 and starting to feel like getting back into acting.
Richad was cool. The female host was weak. Had no real enthusiasm
I really loved how you two said it was a compliment when one of your casting assistants grew into doing their own work successfully! In so many career fields, the leadership resents when the “assistant” grows and goes on to bigger things. No supervisor or leader should want to hinder their peoples’ growth to keep them as employees or keep them from becoming “competition.” They’ve grown into competent colleagues thanks to your mentorship!
C an anyone get speaking roles? Hi from Heather’s Arrives Rated E for everyone! It’s a show about Christmas and other stuff except porn!
This was excellent thank you.
You just have to out uncredited
Its not just 1 movie. If you SAG ELIGIBLE you need 3 movies. She said a movie...but you need 3 waivers. So you need 3 vouchers from 3 union jobs.
I love Erika
To the comment on pre-recording your slate. I’m in the Texas commercial market and I wouldn’t suggest that because literally every single audition has different slate instructions. I recently auditioned for a Dodge commercial & they only wanted me to skate my name.. not my agency. That was a first.
"We're very lucky to have the full colors" *flashbacks intensify
The issue with having a "standard slate" is most directors have specific instructions for a particular project and if you don't follow it to a T, they'll throw it away.
Overall, great info! Thanks Arvold
Very invaluable.....💸💸💰💰advice
I’d be curious what you think about my self tapes. Would you evaluate?
who cares if the sheet is wrinkled. The purpose is to se the actor. You can overlook a wrinkled sheet if the acting is right one.

This has happened to me recently, so glad I found this video from 6-7 years ago 😂
Question, how do you thank the actors? How do you show your gratitude towards them? When it comes to having people actually acknowledging that you exist and you’re surprised about that, imagine who’s sending thank yous to the actors. My guess is not very many. Gratitude must be a two way road. Just a thought. Don’t know if that’s being done or not.
AHHHHHH THANK YOAUUUUU
Getting back in the game at 56...
Driving,
I'm playing Laurie in a Little Women show (for my theater). And I'm spending a lot of time studying and getting into the character, this is very helpful!
This is what is tough. I am an actor with 20 years of theatrical experience, but very little film/tv. I want to get film/tv work, but don't have a reel. It looks like I'm new at acting, when I am not. So I get asked for a reel, and can't get work without one. But you can't create one without any work!
This discussion was helpful. I'm preparing for a self audtion taping in which my character is standing before the other character and is purposefully acting nonchalant, and the sides have him taking an occasional sip of a cup of coffee he's holding. I've decided to go an hold a paper cup of coffee and take those sips--the specificity will aid in my portrayal. My other choice would have been to avoid the coffee parts totally (and certainly not mim them), but the discussion in your video has onvinced me to go ahead an take those sips.
useful tips anyways....
Thank you! Excellent!
I wanna know what not to do. Then you can narrow it down a lot easier. You could get a thousand opinions on what to do but who wants that job? I thrive for it. If you cannot handle any type of criticism any then you are in the wrong sport. If you cannot handle the word no and can't understand why with a smile and not take it personal then maybe you might have a shot
HOW do you “get your name in front of them”?
Thanks Erica.
This was extremely helpful!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
Great Advice! Thanks for sharing!!!!
It’s so cool seeing these two. And to have gotten auditions request from them makes it even more sweet.

Great tips!!
Uncredited also means the role was poss “CUT” out and therefore the actor didn’t get the credit.
